The Board of Trustees of the Glen Rock Public Library is pleased to welcome their newly appointed Library Director, Brianne Colombo. Brianne began her new role on October 2, 2023.
A strong advocate for the essential roles that public libraries play in their communities and for the freedom to read, Brianne brings over 15 years of public library experience to the position. She has worked for several libraries during the course of her career, having started her professional journey as a Children’s Librarian at the Pequannock Township Public Library, and then served in supervisory and Director roles in public libraries across Essex, Morris, and Passaic Counties. In her time as a librarian, Brianne has demonstrated a commitment to providing access to thoughtfully curated physical and digital collections, implementing creative programming, and offering new services and technologies that help to better serve the needs and interests of all residents.

The library has a devoted Board of Trustees and Friends organization, and a dedicated staff that’s committed to offering Glen Rock high quality library services. The library is clearly a well-loved, cherished public space.” In her new role, Brianne will be responsible for leading the Glen Rock Public Library in its mission to provide services and technology that foster education and community partnerships, create opportunities for cultural understanding and professional growth, offer innovative programs, and cultivate an environment for lifelong learning.
As Glen Rock’s new Library Director, Brianne aims to foster a collaborative team of staff and trustees that work together to provide an inclusive, welcoming public space that encourages and inspires curiosity, wellness, and support for all citizens of the Glen Rock community. She believes, “public libraries have the power to change lives, and that magic—that type of work—is what I want to be a part of each time I step through the library’s door.”
