The Glen Rock Athletic Club, which was founded in 1926 and incorporated in 1938, is one of the town’s oldest operating institutions. Although we have since refreshed our Club with modern amenities such as our Tap Room, Game Room, and outdoor Patio, we remain an organization dedicated to our fellow Members and Glen Rock.

The original focus for the club was the semi-pro baseball team, the Rockers. The team, which was created largely by the late Capt. John J. Faber, known as “Glen Rock’s Mr. Baseball,” competed on Doremus Oval (now named Faber Memorial Field) against the Midland Park Rangers, Allendale Allendalers, DuMuro Comets of Passaic, Newburgh Jewels, and other teams in the neighboring areas.

Over the course of the Athletic Club’s semi-pro history, the team had former Yankees legend Whitey Ford and Midland Park native Johnny Vander Meer pitch for the team. In August 1951, Ford took time off from his duties with the U.S. Army in Fort Monmouth and pitched a shutout for the Rockers, striking out 17 hitters.

Larry Doby, the second African-American player to be signed to play in the major leagues and the first to do so in the American League, played for the Rockers under Faber before Major League Baseball integrated minority players in 1946. Doby would enter the major leagues after a stint with the Athletic Club and go on to appear in seven All-Star games and place second in the 1954 MVP voting.

Today, the Glen Rock Athletic Club is a destination for local families who wish to gather and socialize. The GRAC holds many events designed to bring our community closer together. We also make regular donations to various organizations which benefit our children’s education and athletic endeavors.

  1. The very crux of your writing whilst appearing agreeable originally, did not work very well with me personally after some time. Someplace within the sentences you were able to make me a believer but just for a very short while. I however have got a problem with your leaps in assumptions and you would do well to fill in those gaps. In the event you can accomplish that, I will undoubtedly be fascinated.

Thanks for the recommendations on credit repair on this excellent web-site. Some tips i would advice people is usually to give up the mentality that they may buy at this point and pay later. Like a society most people tend to make this happen for many issues. This includes getaways, furniture, as well as items we wish. However, you need to separate a person’s wants out of the needs. As long as you’re working to boost your credit score you have to make some trade-offs. For example you can shop online to save cash or you can turn to second hand retailers instead of expensive department stores intended for clothing.

  8. Another thing I’ve noticed is the fact that for many people, low credit score is the reaction of circumstances beyond their control. By way of example they may have already been saddled by having an illness so they have more bills going to collections. It may be due to a job loss or perhaps the inability to go to work. Sometimes separation and divorce can really send the financial circumstances in the undesired direction. Thanks sharing your thinking on this blog site.

Virtually all of whatever you say happens to be supprisingly accurate and it makes me ponder why I hadn’t looked at this with this light before. Your piece truly did turn the light on for me personally as far as this particular subject goes. Nonetheless there is just one issue I am not necessarily too cozy with so whilst I try to reconcile that with the central theme of the position, allow me observe what all the rest of your visitors have to point out.Very well done.

  11. I think one of your advertisings caused my internet browser to resize, you may well want to put that on your blacklist.

  12. Thanks for your write-up. One other thing is that often individual American states have their unique laws that will affect people, which makes it very difficult for the the legislature to come up with the latest set of guidelines concerning property foreclosures on property owners. The problem is that a state features own regulations which may have impact in an unfavorable manner in relation to foreclosure procedures.

  13. I was just looking for this info for a while. After 6 hours of continuous Googleing, finally I got it in your site. I wonder what’s the lack of Google strategy that don’t rank this kind of informative sites in top of the list. Generally the top web sites are full of garbage.

  14. hello!,I like your writing very much! share we communicate more about your article on AOL? I need an expert on this area to solve my problem. Maybe that’s you! Looking forward to see you.

  15. I would like to add when you do not already have an insurance policy or perhaps you do not participate in any group insurance, chances are you’ll well make use of seeking the aid of a health insurance agent. Self-employed or those with medical conditions normally seek the help of the health insurance specialist. Thanks for your post.

  24. Thanks for the tips you have shared here. Furthermore, I believe there are a few factors that really keep your automobile insurance premium straight down. One is, to bear in mind buying cars and trucks that are inside the good list of car insurance providers. Cars that happen to be expensive tend to be at risk of being snatched. Aside from that insurance policies are also in accordance with the value of the car, so the costlier it is, then higher your premium you spend.
