2:31 PM – Officers were dispatched to an office building at 208 Harristown Road, occupied by the Bank of America to investigate a fourth-floor window that was discovered broken under suspicious circumstances. Responding officers determined that a gunshot had been fired through the window which overlooks Route 208. The employee assigned to that office was not at work, and no one used the office during the day.
The scene was processed by the Bergen County Sheriff’s Bureau of Criminal Identification who collected evidence that included bullet fragments. Route 208 was temporarily shut down in both directions while officers attempted to search for shell casings or other evidence. They were assisted by Fair Lawn and Hawthorne Police, as well as the Bergen County Sheriff’s Department. A canvass of the residential neighborhood on the other side of Route 208 was also conducted. The Glen Rock Fire Department assisted at the scene as well.
There were no injuries, and it has not yet been determined what time the incident occurred. The matter is currently under investigation by Glen Rock Detectives. Anyone with information on this crime is asked to contact Detective Sergeant James Calaski at (201) 670-3948 or [email protected] or Det. Lucas Doney at (201) 670-3947 or [email protected].

6:42 PM – Patrols were dispatched to a hit-and-run motor vehicle accident on Rock Road east of Main Street. A 48-year-old Glen Rock man, operating a 2012 Honda Accord, stated he was westbound on Rock Road when he came to a stop for a pedestrian in a crosswalk. After coming to a full stop his vehicle was struck from behind by a Black Jeep which fled the scene. The man was transported to Valley Hospital in Ridgewood for non-life-threatening injuries.
The investigating officer, P.O. Andrew Magro, found an indentation of the hit-and-run vehicle’s license plate on the back of the vehicle which was struck. Working with Detectives, he was able to ascertain that it was a Utah license plate registered to a leasing company in Midvale, Utah.
The following day, with the cooperation of the leasing company, Det. Lucas Doney was able to identify the vehicle operator as a 36-year-old East Orange woman. She was subsequently charged with leaving the scene of an accident. A preliminary court date of November 22nd has been set.
