On 3/20/2017 at 12:11 AM, GRPD patrol units were dispatched to 390 South Maple Avenue, the Exxon Gas Station on an activated burglar alarm. Responding units found the door to the attendant booth to be forced open in what appeared to be a burglary. Surveillance video was reviewed and it was confirmed that a male suspect had unsuccessfully attempted to pry the door of the attendant booth and the main store door. He then forced the booth door open but fled with no proceeds after the audible alarm activated. Further investigation led to the arrest of Theodore “Vlad” Geiger age 19 of Glen Rock, who was taken into custody on 3/21/2017 at 8:30 PM by Det. Mike Trover, Det. Jim Calaski, P.O. Bryan Scott and P.O. Sarah Orsita. He was charged with burglary and lodged in the Bergen County Jail pending an appearance in Superior Court Central Judicial Processing within 48 hours.

On 3/21/2017 at 1:10 PM, GRPD patrol units were dispatched to 216 Rock Road, Sweet Love and Cake on a reported burglary in the past. Surveillance video was reviewed by responding officers and detectives which showed a male suspect entering the store at 1220 PM on 3/20/2017. The actor forced the cash register open and stole $503.00 before fleeing the scene. A 17-year- old Glen Rock male was identified as the suspect after reviewing the surveillance video. At 5:30 PM on 3/21/2017, Det. Trover located the juvenile male suspect, who had also been reported missing at the time of the burglary, and placed him under arrest. He was transported to headquarters and charged with burglary and theft and released to his parents.

Chief Dean Ackermann states “These charges are merely accusations and that the defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt and would also like to thank the administration of the Glen Rock High School for their cooperation in these investigations.”
