This past year, Glen Rock has seen an ‘explosion’ of creativity. This is all due to the growth of the Arts Council of Glen Rock.
It turns out that our town is full of residents with a knack for making something plain into something amazing. In 2019 some of those residents came together to form the Arts Council of Glen Rock. Its mission is to nurture, advance, and bring to light all the artistic and creative endeavors happening in our town.
Since 2019 they have had many projects that brought art and different ways for the residents to express themselves to Glen Rock. These projects include but are not limited to Quasquicentennial Arts Project for the 125th, The Short Film Show, Glen Rock Pride in the Park, Paint the Town, Glen Rock Arts fest, and the Storytellers series.
Walking around town during the different seasons, you can see painted windows or poetry in the central business district that they are responsible for. Walk around and read some of the great poetry from our own poet laureate Okey Chenowith, and some of the kids from town.
Their latest project was member Michelle Keller and the Arts Council freshening up the sign with new paint.
