During the period between May 22, 2023, through May 28, 2023, members of the GRPD handled 293 calls for service, the highlights of which included:
05-23-2023
2:19 PM – The manager of Bottle King Liquors on Prospect Street reported shoplifting that had occurred earlier in the day. The actor, a male subject in their 30’s, was captured on video surveillance footage taking a bottle of Jack Daniels Whiskey and left the store without paying.
P.O. Sarah Orsita was able to identify the subject, based on the video images, and subsequently placed him under arrest at his residence in Fair Lawn. The actor, a 33-year-old Fair Lawn man, was transported to Police HQ where he was processed and released on his own recognizance pending an appearance in Glen Rock Municipal Court.

3:08 PM – Patrols were dispatched to a hit-and-run motor vehicle accident at Maple Avenue and Park Avenue. According to the driver of a grey 2007 Nissan Altima, who remained on the scene, they were fully within the intersection when a blue SUV entered from Park Avenue and made a left turn into the side of their vehicle. The SUV left the scene in an unknown direction and no further information could be provided. Anyone who witnessed this incident and can identify the hit-and-run vehicle is asked to contact the Glen Rock Police Department at (201) 652-3800.

4:46 PM – The manager of the CVS Store at 175 Rock Road reported the shoplifting of $ 3,649.70 in makeup products which had occurred over a two-day period in the past. The manager reviewed video surveillance images following an inventory that disclosed a large amount of product missing from the store.
On May 19th, just prior to 7 PM, video surveillance disclosed that two females working in concert with each other removed $2,453.15 worth of product, placing the items into a bag. A male subject appeared to be acting as a lookout and was also seen placing items in his jacket pocket. All three left the store and drove off in a white sedan with dark-tinted windows.
On May 24th, around 6:30 PM, the same three individuals returned to the store and stole an additional $1,196.55 worth of makeup products in the same manner. They departed the store together in the same vehicle.
The first actor was described as a light-skinned female with brown hair and blond highlights, wearing a black sweatshirt and sweatpants with white sneakers. The second was a light-skinned female with dark hair wearing a pink sweatshirt, black pants, and black shoes, and carried a large brown handbag. The male subject was also described as light-skinned and wore a black insulated jacket, black sweatpants, and black sneakers.

8:39 AM – A resident on the 100 block of Rodney Street reported finding the windshield of their GMC Denali had been broken overnight. The responding officer found damage consistent with someone firing a BB or pellet gun into the vehicle. The windshield had a hole through it and a damaged dashboard. The resident’s video surveillance system detected movement from the street during a series of intervals during the late night and early morning hours, however, the images were inconclusive. Both the resident and their neighbors are further checking their video surveillance systems and will provide the officer with any images they may recover.
