06:23 AM – A Carol Court reported that an unknown actor had entered his driveway at 3:21 AM and attempted to enter two vehicles parked in his driveway. The resident provided video footage of the unidentified actor, who appeared to be a male, pulling on the door handles of both vehicles. Upon discovering that the vehicles were locked the actor left the area. The video footage is being reviewed by the Detective Bureau and can be found on the Glen Rock Police Department’s Facebook page.

7:51 AM – A Highland Avenue resident reported that his 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee had been stolen from his driveway overnight. The Jeep had been parked in the resident’s driveway with the doors unlocked and the key fob inside along with a gym bag which contained his driver’s license and credit cards. One of the credit cards was determined to have been used at a fast food restaurant in Irvington.
The vehicle was recovered by the Newark Police Department on November 15th, no arrests were made by Newark PD. Detectives are investigating based upon evidence recovered inside the vehicle as well as credit card usage.

2:07 PM – A Highland Road resident reported that an unknown actor(s) entered his unlocked vehicle overnight. The interior was rummaged through, however, nothing appeared to have been taken. There are no known witnesses.

8:04 PM – A Berkeley Place resident reported that an unknown actor(s) entered her unlocked vehicle overnight. The interior was rummaged through, however, nothing appeared to have been taken. There are no known witnesses.

8:26 PM – A Doremus Avenue resident reported that an unknown actor(s) entered her unlocked vehicle overnight. The interior was rummaged through, however, nothing appeared to have been taken. There are no known witnesses.

4:47 PM – Employees at the M&T Bank on Prospect Street reported that $5,230 in fraudulent checks were cashed on two occasions on November 14th and 15th. It was later determined that the actor had provided fraudulent identification when cashing the checks. The detective bureau is following up on the matter in cooperation with bank security.

10:52 PM – A 78-year-old Glen Rock man reported that he had fallen victim to the “grandparents scam”. On November 13th, he received a call from a person claiming to be his grandson. The individual stated that he had been involved in a motor vehicle accident out of state and was being held on a DWI charge. This call was then followed by a call from someone claiming to be a public defender. This caller claimed that in order for his grandson to be released from jail he would need to wire money for bail.
The victim wired a total of $12,500 as instructed. The bank was able to recall $8,000, however, $4,500 had already gone through and could not be recalled. The detective bureau is currently investigating.

9:48 PM – The Passaic County Sheriff’s Department detained a 28-year-old Wanaque man on a criminal warrant issued by the Glen Rock Municipal Court. Unable to post $ 1,000 bail, the man was taken into custody by P.O. Murray Yang and P.O. Will Holguin who transported him to the Bergen County Jail.

2:22 PM – The Morris County Sheriff’s Department detained a 28-year-old Haskill man on a criminal warrant issued by the Glen Rock Municipal Court. Unable to post $ 1,000 bail, the man was taken into custody by P.O. Adam Pyatak and Special Officer Mike Friedman who transported him to the Bergen County Jail.
