Citizens of the Month Kevin Callahan and Kate Gifford are the lead mentors for the GRHS program, Pathways for Exceptional Children. This program develops high school student mentors to work with elementary special needs children. The mentors volunteer their time to develop and attend social programs for the elementary children in Glen Rock.  Kevin and Kate have actively recruited new members and developed flyers for the program, which have been used by administrators and members of the Child Study Team. They spoke at a recent SEPAC meeting and visited each elementary school to help promote the program.  They have been instrumental in the program’s recent “Be Wise” award through the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, which acknowledges programs that promote acceptance and tolerance. They continue to be instrumental in developing this year’s activities.
