Glen Rock has not had a downtown holiday tree lighting since 2011. This year the Glen Rock Chamber of Commerce and a group of resident volunteers, who care about the community, want to bring holiday spirit to town. Families can gather and stay local to shop and bring back some holiday spirit to downtown Glen Rock this year.
Michelle Torpey, resident committee volunteer and event founder commented that “The Glen Rock holiday tree represents happiness, hope and the beauty of the holiday season.”
The tree lighting will take place at Boiling Springs Bank, 217 Rock Rd, Glen Rock on December 9th 4:30 pm – 5:30pm. The Borough will close Glen Ave between Rock and Glen Courts to ensure a safe time for all. After the lighting with Candle lit caroling, all are invited to take a stroll to Glen Courts and sing some carols for the residents.
This is one event out of many that the Chamber is offering this holiday season. In addition, the Glen Rock Chamber of Commerce is selling Holiday ornaments. These ornaments are sponsored by Glen Rock News Today, and designed by Rebecca Nathanson, GR Class of 2015, and a Graphic Design Student at Philadelphia University.
The ornaments can be ordered through emailing Michelle Torpey and at a variety of holiday events.
Stay tuned in the Glen Rock for the Holidays Group for more details on how to get yours.
