During the period between January 16TH 2017 and January 22nd 2017 members of the GRPD handled 197 calls for service, the highlights of which included:
01-18-2017
10:47 AM – The father of a 15-year-old male reported his son was assaulted by another student at the Glen Rock High School. The detective bureau has followed up on this report with school officials who have taken action pursuant to the school district policy. The parent has been advised of the various options available to him in order to pursue the matter through the juvenile justice system.

1:08 PM – The manager of CVS on Rock Road reported that a shoplifter stole $428 worth of baby formula and razors. The actor fled the store on Rock Road as the caller was reporting the incident. Based upon information provided by store employees as well as video surveillance images, detectives were able to identify the actor. On January 19th at 6:40 PM Det. Mike Trover subsequently arrested a 30-year-old Fair Lawn man who was charged with one count of shoplifting. The man was processed at Police HQ and released pending an appearance at the Superior Court Central Judicial Processing in Hackensack on February 3rd, 2017.
01-18-2017
10:47 PM – While investigating a disabled vehicle at Maple Avenue and Harristown Road, P.O. Murray Yang determined that the driver had an active warrant for his arrest out of Roselle Park. The man was taken into custody and subsequently released upon posting $1,000 bail.
01-19-2017
9:51 AM – P.O. Bob Surdyka and P.O. Sam Evans arrested a 30-year-old Oakland man on active warrants out of the Glen Rock Municipal Court. Unable to post $2,200 in bail, the man was transported to the Bergen County jail pending an appearance in the Glen Rock Municipal Court.
01-20-2017
1:19 PM – The assistant principal of the Glen Rock High School reported the suspected use of marijuana on school grounds. Two suspects have been identified and the Detective Bureau is reviewing the matter with the cooperation of school officials.
01-21-2017
11:41 AM – A Radburn Road resident reported that two days prior she observed a bicycle missing from her unlocked garage. The bicycle is believed to have been taken sometime between the dates of January 18th and 19th. There are no witnesses or suspects. Nothing else appeared to be missing or disturbed.
01-20-2017
1:19 PM – The manager of CVS on Rock Road reported a suspected shoplifter in the store. The suspect had left the store prior to police being notified and the manager was unable to confirm if anything had been taken. The video surveillance system was determined to be down and no further evidence could be developed.
01-22-2017
3:01 PM – A Park Avenue resident reported an Xbox gaming system and a Nikon camera had been stolen from his residence someone between January 18th and 22nd. There was no forced entry to the home, there are no witnesses and no suspects. The Detective Bureau will be reviewing the matter once further information requested from the resident has been received.
