Samantha Arehart has been named to the Champlain College Dean’s List for the Fall 2016 semester. She is a first year student majoring in Game Art and Animation.
After graduating GRHS in 2016, Samantha started her own business when she was in High School called “Sam’s Art Class”. Sam’s Art Class consisted of teaching children in grades 3 through 9 the basic skills used in drawing such as shading, line work and perspective. She had between 5 and 7 students over each of the past two summers.
Samantha also achieved all 3 high honor awards in Girl Scouts.
- For the Girl Scout Bronze Award, her troop created a tree nursery that is used to grow saplings to replace aging trees in our town.
- For the Girl Scout Silver Award, she created and hosted an art exhibition for Glen Rock Middle School Students held in the Glen Rock Borough Hall featuring 12 artists.
- For the Girl Scout Gold Award for developing and running a workshop to help senior citizens create and use a Facebook account. The purpose of this project was to get more seniors to voice their opinions on social media. She created a manual that all participants could take home, and it is currently available through the Glen Rock public library website.
She also has a black belt in taekwondo from Master Kim’s Martial Arts.
Congratulations Samantha!
