9:56 AM – During the course of a motor vehicle stop Route 208 North, P.O. T.J. Graziani arrested a 26-year-old Paterson woman on warrants issued by the Hackensack and Cedar Grove Municipal Courts. The woman was transported to Police HQ where she posted $1,500 bail and was released pending an appearance in both courts. She was also issued traffic summonses for driving with a suspended and expired driver’s license.

Following an investigation by Detectives Two Glen Rock juveniles, males ages 15 & 16, were charged on juvenile delinquency complaints with drug related offenses. The 15-year-old was charged with possession of marijuana under 50 grams, the 16-year-old was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. The investigation had begun on the afternoon when Sgt. Bryan Scott and Special Officer Angie Oliva observed what appeared to be a hand to hand drug exchange while they were monitoring dismissal activity in the area of Central School. The matter has been referred the family court, juvenile part at Superior Court in Hackensack.

During the height of the nor’easter storm, patrols responded to 79 calls for service with the Fire Department providing support for 17 emergent conditions. A total 11 officers were on duty supported by a dozen Fire Fighters as well as EMT’s from the Glen Rock Volunteer Ambulance Corps in order to provide for public safety during the storm.
Forty-five conditions required a response from PSE&G and the Glen Rock DPW including trees and wires down, numerous transformers blown throughout the community. Two homes were struck by trees causing significant damage. A train on the Bergen County Line struck two downed trees and became disabled but did not derail. That was turned over the NJ Transit Police. No injuries were reported as a result of the storm.

8:44 AM – Patrol responded to a 9-1-1 report of a dispute in the parking lot of a medical building on Maple Avenue near Park Avenue. The owner of the property had become irate over an area resident parking on the property without permission and obstructing snow removal. The resident erroneously claimed she had permission from the Police Department to park at that location. The matter was resolved when the vehicle was removed and the property owner was referred to the Glen Rock Municipal Court to sign a parking complaint. Drivers are reminded that commercial parking lots are private property under the exclusive control of the owner who has the right the regulate parking, including towing unauthorized vehicles at the vehicle owner’s expense.

02:13 AM – P.O. John Tarantino observed an aggressive driver on Route 208 Northbound operating in an unsafe manner, tailgating, and making an unsafe lane change. The officer was able to stop the vehicle and subsequently arrested the driver, a 53-year-old Wayne man, for DWI. The man was transported to police HQ where he was processed and released to the custody of a sober adult. His vehicle was impounded in accordance with John’s Law. He was also issued summonses for careless driving, tailgating, and unsafe lane change.

1:27 AM – During the course of a motor vehicle stop on Route 208 North, P.O. John Tarantino arrested a 37-year-old Ringwood woman for DWI. She was transported to police HQ where she was processed and released to the custody of a sober adult. Her vehicle was impounded in accordance with John’s Law. She was also issued summonses for careless driving and maintenance of lamps.

8:44 AM – Patrols, along with the Glen Rock Fire Department, responded to the gym at Coleman School to investigate a report of a child stuck in a cylindrical toy. Firefighters were able to safely cut the toy off the 8-year-old girl. She was turned over to a family member who declined further assistance.
