10-30-2017

4:56 PM – A Doremus Avenue resident reported that his vehicle had been entered sometime between October 28th and October 29th.  The unknown actor appeared to have entered the unlocked SUV and rummaged through the vehicle.  Nothing of value appears to have been taken at this time.

10-30-2017

8:17 PM – The Port Authority Police Department detained a 48-year-old Passaic, NJ man who was wanted by the Glen Rock Municipal Court on an active criminal warrant.  The man was subsequently taken into custody by Det. Trover and P.O. Graziani who transported him to the Bergen County Jail.

10-31-2017

7:57 AM – P.O. McGill responded to a residence on Windham Place on a report of a stolen motor vehicle.  The resident reported that sometime between 8:00 PM on October 30th and 7:50 AM on October 31st, an unknown actor stole his Lexus SUV from his driveway.  The resident stated that the vehicle was left unlocked and had the vehicle key fob under the front seat.  The vehicle was subsequently recovered a few hours later in Newark, NJ and the Glen Rock Police Department Detective Bureau is investigating the theft.  Residents are reminded to always lock your vehicles and never leave your keys or key fobs in the vehicle when parked.

10-31-2017

4:34 PM –  P.O. Graziani, P.O. McGill, P.O. Yang, and Sgt. Riggio responded to a residence on Prospect Street on a report of a residential burglary.  Responding officers found that an unknown actor had forced entry into the residence while the resident was not home.  Several rooms in the residence were rummaged through by the actor who then fled the scene.  Det. Calaski of the Glen Rock Police Department Detective Bureau is investigating with the assistance of the Bergen County Sheriff’s Department Bureau of Criminal Identification.

10-31-2017

6:58 PM –  P.O. Donnelly responded to a residence on Cornwall Road on a report of an assault that had just occurred.  The juvenile victim reported that he opened the front door to his home for who he believed was a trick or treater.  Once the front door was open, the actor, who was dressed in dark clothing and wearing a white mask, punched the victim in the face and then fled on foot.  The victim suffered only minor injuries.  The area was checked by patrol with negative results for the assailant.  The detective bureau is investigating.

1:55 PM –  P.O. Onove responded to Central School on a report of a suspicious person.  The complainant from the school reported that a male, who appeared to be in his late twenties or early thirties, rang the doorbell and asked for access into the school.  When school officials inquired as to why he was requesting access, the male party stated that he wanted to say hello to some of his old teachers but was not specific on who is was looking to see.  When he was denied access to the school, he left the area in a red Jeep Cherokee.

8:41 PM –  While conducting a motor vehicle stop on Rock Road, P.O. Graziani had difficulty determining the true identity of the driver of the vehicle.  After further investigation, the driver, later identified as 54-year-old Brooklyn, NY man, was subsequently arrested and charged with hindering apprehension by providing false information to a law enforcement officer.  The man was released on his own recognizance with a court date in the Glen Rock Municipal Court and was also issued several motor vehicle summonses.

11-04-2017

6:06 AM – Pursuant to a motor vehicle stop, P.O. Donnelly arrested a 33-year-old Passaic, NJ man on two outstanding warrants out of the Englewood and Ridgefield Park Municipal Courts.  The man was able to post bail on both warrants and was released from custody.  He was issued several motor vehicle summonses including one for driving while suspended.

11-04-2017

10:27 PM – P.O. Mattina and Det. Calaski responded to Delmar Avenue on a report of juveniles entering what was believed to be a vacant home.  Upon officer’s arrival in the area, they heard a commotion inside the home and in the back yard of the residence.  Upon further investigation, they came upon what appeared to be a juvenile party with underage drinking as numerous juveniles fled the area leaving behind beer cans and other alcoholic beverages.  A juvenile, who ended up living at that residence, was subsequently released to the custody of an adult family friend since his parents were not in the area.  Another juvenile who was found at the home was released to the custody of his parents.  The detective bureau is investigating and will follow up with potential juvenile charges stemming from the incident.

11-05-2017

6:50 PM – Glen Rock officers were dispatched to Rock Road at the Bergen County Line Train Station on a report of a vehicle struck by a train.   When officers arrived, it was determined that the driver of the car struck the side of the train while it was stopped in the intersection of Rock Road.   Upon police arrival, the train had already left the station and continued onto its next stop.  The driver, a 63-year-old North Haledon woman, was transported to the hospital for medical treatment.  The Glen Rock Fire Department responded to the scene to clean up fluid spilled in the roadway by the damaged car.  New Jersey Transit Police responded to the scene to conduct the accident investigation since the vehicle stuck the train making it their jurisdiction.

Glen Rock officers on scene and assisting the New Jersey Transit Police with the investigation were P.O. Murray Yang, P.O. Bryan Scott, P.O. James McGill, P.O. Sarah Orsita and Sgt. Frank Riggio.
