The checkpoint also has the added benefit of allowing motorists, whose vehicles are due for inspection, to have their vehicles inspected free of charge with only a short wait. A total of 62 summonses were issued to vehicles found with safety violations, no liability insurance and to drivers without a valid driver’s license. Two summonses were also issued to operators who attempted to drive through the check point while talking on their cell phones.
