Pockets of passing drizzle and an occasional shower will continue through the afternoon and evening. Scattered Showers Focus on Eastern North Carolina

The most active rain on radar Sunday morning is across eastern North Carolina. Scattered showers are moving near Greenville, Goldsboro, Tarboro, and Roanoke Rapids.

A larger area of heavier showers is also sitting just off the coast south of New Bern and east of Jacksonville. Coastal communities could see a passing shower as this activity moves through the morning.

Drizzle Covers Raleigh, Greensboro, and the Piedmont

Away from the eastern showers, most of central North Carolina is dealing with light drizzle. Raleigh, Durham, Greensboro, Asheboro, Sanford, and Fayetteville are seeing gray skies with damp conditions.

Radar shows little organized rain across the Piedmont this morning. Roads may still be slick in spots where drizzle has lingered overnight.

Charlotte and the Mountains Stay Mostly Dry and Cool

Charlotte, Hickory, Rock Hill, Boone, and Asheville are mostly dry on radar this morning. Any precipitation in these areas is limited to light drizzle under cloudy skies.
