Bob was the first person to show me how to take a good photo.
I remember years ago we got together at the arboretum and Bob showed me how and what makes for a good photo and to this day when shooting I listen to what he told me. Bob, along with Jean Baker Wonder, was a big part of my teen years. The 2 of them got me involved with the Wed night pool party. I owe him so much. Without Bob and Jean I probably would not be who I am today. Also, I would not be doing Volunteer work in Glen Rock with out his influence or even shooting photos. I would be a guy who is doing nothing with his life.
I Remember the Wednesday night I was helping sell pizza at Wednesday Night Something. The idea of having games popped into my head I thinking about it for a min and thinking this would add to what is a fun night for the town at the pool so I went to Bob told him my idea, ” Bob I have an idea that would make the Wed something better. How about we have games for the kids? I’m not talking duck duck goose or tag i am thinking sports like Soccer and stuff and we could play it on the grass @ the pool.” Bob told me go for it and from the 1st week to today its a big part of the Wednesday night pool party. Everyone who new Bob new he had a great sense of humor. the town has surely lost a good man Bob you will be missed.
Councilwoman Kristine Morieko who new Bob shared this memory with GRNT. “He always asked me if I wanted to see a picture of his pride and joy…. and then he’s show me a snapshot of a bottle of dish detergent. He had the best sense of humor”
Amy Plasencia a GRHS Graduate and Former GR resident who worked with bob @ the Wed something pool party told GRNT, ” My fondest memories of Bob were working with him during the “Wednesday night something” events at the town pool every summer – he was always so kind hearted and helpful and loved building a supportive, fun and healthy atmosphere for the kids of the town. He always inspired me to simply “do good”. He was also such an exceptional photographer! He loved sharing his craft and I loved taking it all in and even do a lot of photography work myself now.”
