Central Iowa Climbs Into the Mid to Upper 70s

Central Iowa will see highs mostly in the mid to upper 70s. Des Moines and Ames are both forecast near 77 degrees, while Marshalltown, Fort Dodge, Algona, and Pella reach about 76.

Iowa Falls and Grinnell are expected near 75, while Creston comes in around 76. Mason City is forecast to reach about 74 degrees in north-central Iowa.

Eastern Iowa Stays Slightly Cooler in the 70s

Eastern Iowa will be a bit cooler but still warm for early October. Cedar Rapids and Burlington are forecast near 76, while Ottumwa and Keokuk reach about 77.

Davenport is expected near 75, with Waterloo and Decorah around 74. Clinton reaches about 73, and Dubuque stays slightly cooler near 72 degrees.

The warmth extends well beyond Iowa, with Norfolk, Nebraska, near 84 and Lincoln near 83. Omaha, Sioux Falls, and Yankton are all forecast around 81 degrees.

Farther north, Fairmont, Minnesota, is expected near 81, while Worthington reaches around 79. To the east, temperatures in northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin stay closer to the low 70s.
