Mild Thursday With Highs Near 69 Degrees and Morning Fog in Colorado Before Mountain Snow and Southwest Flooding Threat Return Sunday Into Monday

COLORADO — Most of Colorado will enjoy a mild, dry Thursday afternoon with lighter winds, though morning fog will need to clear first across the eastern plains. Highs reach the 60s along the Front Range and plains, while mountain valleys stay cooler in the upper 40s to 50s. Bigger changes arrive Sunday into Monday, when Pacific moisture could renew the flooding concern in southwest Colorado and colder air raises mountain snow chances.

Front Range and Eastern Plains Reach 64 to 69 Degrees After Morning Fog

The Front Range and I-25 corridor will see highs of 64 to 69 degrees under mostly sunny skies, with slightly cooler air and generally light winds. The Colorado plains and Nebraska Panhandle also reach 64 to 69 degrees, while Goodland comes in near 59 to 63 degrees.

Morning fog is possible across eastern Colorado and western Kansas, with dense patches near Goodland. Drivers should slow down and use low beams in foggy areas, as clearing will work from west to east and some spots may stay cloudy longer.

Western Slope, Mountain Valleys, and Southeast Wyoming Stay Dry and Mild

The Western Slope will reach 58 to 65 degrees with sunshine and passing clouds, though Durango could pick up more cloud cover later in the day. Southeast Wyoming and the I-80 corridor will see highs of 57 to 63 degrees with mostly sunny skies and less wind than earlier in the week.

Mountain valleys around Leadville, Frisco, and Silverton reach 48 to 55 degrees, while Gunnison and Alamosa climb to 55 to 60 degrees. Dry weather holds through the day, followed by another cold night in the valleys.

Friday and Halloween Bring Limited Rain Chances Across the Plains

Friday brings increasing clouds and a chance of rain to the far eastern plains, with chances near 30 percent across far eastern Colorado. Most of the moisture is favored farther south and east, and much of the Front Range may only see clouds from this first round.

Saturday brings some mountain rain and snow shower chances, while chances across the eastern Colorado plains drop to around 15 to 25 percent. Halloween is not expected to be a washout, though timing details are still being worked out.

Southwest Colorado Flooding Concern and Possible Denver Snow Sunday Into Monday

Moisture returning from the Pacific could bring another wet stretch to southwest Colorado from Sunday into Monday. With the ground still recovering from the last soaking, the flooding threat could increase again, and residents in the region should prepare now.

Colder air arrives Monday, improving snow chances in the mountains and possibly the foothills. Some models bring snow into parts of Denver and the Palmer Divide, while others keep those areas too warm or move moisture out before the cold air arrives, leaving lower-elevation snow still uncertain.
