We moved to Glen Rock 7 years ago and we have 3 kids in the school system.
I have been a homemaker for the past 4 years but my past experience includes human resources, administrative, accounting, patents, and trademarks.

Reason for running:
There are a few reasons I decided to run.
Our teachers, our BOE transparency and communication (or lack of), the checks and balances or opposition that I am not seeing in the meetings and I would like to see the board more responsible with our taxes.
When we moved to Glen Rock, everyone asked your child’s teacher’s name – and everyone knew who that teacher was.
That teacher taught their child at some point or they heard good things about that particular teacher over the years.
The teachers were valued both professionally and personally as they were an integrated part of the Glen Rock community.
In recent years there was a change in the Glen Rock school system, we became the jumping board to a better position and not the destination.
I would like to restore our relationship with our teachers and make sure our kids get the same quality of teachers Glen Rock is used to be known for.
Our schools used to be the best and we cannot deny that our teachers had most of the responsibility for it.
Regarding the BOE, I do not feel that my voice (and the voices of other parents or students) are being heard, so I would like to have an open channel for communications where the board will be open to meet the parents and teachers and listen and answer our questions in real-time.
Most decisions are being made behind closed doors and we do not get the reasoning and context that lead to these decisions.
I would also like to see opposition, other opinions, and studies when it comes to decision-making, as well as the input of the professional staff that is going to be the most affected by these decisions.
I don’t have all the knowledge or answers ahead, but I am willing to learn, find studies, and have discussions in order to learn and make informed decisions in an open and transparent manner.
Budget-wise, our board at the moment does not have a budget plan and most of the changes that are being made are a direct result of that.
Our budget is very generous and I would like to see a proper plan and a more responsible use of our tax money.

Our biggest issues at the moment or our teachers’ retention, our Board communication, transparency and opposition and our budget.

Glen Rock has a very generous budget when it comes to our schools.
I would like to see a 5 years budget plan to make sure we are inline with the state aid cuts.
My spending priorities are the teachers and programs in our schools.

We love Glen Rock, we made it into our home we are raising our children here.
We have a wonderful town, we have an amazing community and I am proud to be a part of this.
We moved here a while ago and even though most of you don’t know me by name – I have surely crossed paths with you in one point or another.
I am not running for the board to fix one program or another, I am running to make the school an amazing experience for all of our children.
To make sure that the school is meeting our children at their level and help them excel.
That we have the programs to ignite their curiosity, learning, and their growth.
I wish that our children will come out of our schools prepared and able to take on the world and its challenges, and its our responsibility as parents to help getting them ready.
