During the period between September 23, 2024, through September 29, 2024, members of the GRPD handled 422 calls for service, the highlights of which included:
09-23-2024
3:56 PM – A Glen Rock resident reported that their dog, a Collie, was attacked by another dog, a Pit Bull, while they were walking in the area of the PSE&G right-of-way and Berkeley Place. Both dogs were leashed and being walked by their owners at the time the incident occurred. The owner of the Pit Bull, also a Glen Rock resident was walking the dog on a retractable leash and claimed that due to bushes in the area that neither dog had scene each other until they walked past the bushes and the attack occurred. Both residents were able to separate the dogs, however, the Collie was injured and transported to a Veterinary Hospital.
The matter has been referred to Animal Control for further investigation.
09-23-2024
7:15 PM – While on patrol P.O. T.J. Graziani came across a pedestrian who had just been struck by a motor vehicle in the crosswalk on Harding Plaza at Maple Avenue. The officer rendered aid to the pedestrian, a 46-year-old Glen Rock man, as EMS personnel responded to the scene. He was subsequently transported to the Valley Hospital in Paramus with non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver, a 66-year-old Glen Rock man, remained on scene and cooperated with police. He was issued a summons for failing to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.
09-29-2024
7:15 PM – While on patrol P.O. T.J. Graziani observed a vehicle which had struck a utility pole at the Harristown Road off-ramp from Route 208 North. During the course of investigating the crash P.O. Graziani determined that the driver, Shon C. Barnes, age 34, of Hackensack, NJ, was intoxicated and placed him under arrest.
The driver was transported to Police HQ where he was processed and charged with Driving While Intoxicated and Refusal to Submit to Breath Testing. He was also issued summonses for Careless Driving and Failure to Maintain Lane. His vehicle was impounded in accordance with John’s Law, and he was released to the custody of a sober adult.
These charges are merely accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
