Reason for running:
As I run for re-election to the Board of Education, my unwavering commitment to our students, families, and community remains at the forefront of my work. I have always believed that every decision we make should prioritize the best interests of our children, ensuring they receive the highest quality education that prepares them for success in a competitive and ever-changing world.
Throughout my tenure, I have demonstrated a strong sense of independent thinking, unafraid to challenge the status quo when necessary. I understand that advocating for our students means listening to diverse perspectives and carefully considering the long-term impact of our decisions. At the same time, I remain a dedicated advocate for the taxpayers, ensuring that every dollar spent is used efficiently and responsibly. I believe in transparency and accountability in how we fund our schools, and I have worked to balance the needs of students with the financial realities our community faces.
Candidate’s biggest issue:
We need to retain and attract qualified teachers while maintaining a high standard of education for our students. Teachers are the foundation of any successful school district, and we must prioritize competitive salaries, professional development, and a supportive work environment to keep the best educators in our schools. At the same time, we must attract new talent by showcasing our district as a place where innovation, collaboration, and student success thrive.
Equally important is the continuation of high-quality education for every student, ensuring access to academic resources, diverse programs, and opportunities that prepare them for the future. To achieve this, we need to uphold accountability at every level—teachers, administrators, and the board itself. Transparency, fiscal responsibility, and measurable outcomes are essential to building trust within the community and guaranteeing that every decision made benefits our students and supports long-term success.

Approach to budget cuts and spending:
My primary focus is on funding programs that directly benefit our students. Ensuring that they have access to quality education, enriching extracurricular activities, and essential resources is crucial for their academic and personal growth. Whether it’s enhancing classroom technology, supporting arts and athletics, or expanding mental health services, my priority is to create opportunities that help students thrive.
At the same time, I am fully aware that we are working with taxpayer dollars, and I take the responsibility of managing those funds very seriously. It is essential that every dollar is spent efficiently and effectively, with a clear focus on long-term benefits for both students and the community. By prioritizing programs that have a direct impact on students and being mindful of financial accountability, I am committed to supporting a budget that supports our children while respecting the investment of our taxpayers.
