The Friends of the Arboretum are hosting a free concert of the Glen Rock Pops Orchestra. The date is Saturday, September 14 at 4:30 at the Arboretum. Rain date is Saturday, September 21. The Arboretum is located at 460 Doremus Avenue in Glen Roc. Please bring your chairs, blankets and snacks and enjoy the music of Broadway, the movies, and light classics. Parking is available in the Municipal Pool Parking Lot and on Doremus Avenue.
The Friends of the Glen Rock Arboretum is a 501©3 organization dedicated to the preservation, maintenance, and development of the Arboretum. Wetlands. Forests. Gardens. Native habitats and biodiverse tree collection make up the park that was once an estate and became an arboretum in 1963.
This orchestra, under the baton of Music Director Anthony LaGruth, is comprised of musicians from throughout neighboring communities. Concerts are performed at schools, churches, community events, assisted living facilities and private functions. LaGruth has led orchestras has led orchestras throughout the United States and currently serves as the Music Director and Conductor of the Livingston Symphony Orchestra and Associate Conductor of the North Shore Music Festival. Maestro LGruth has also guest conducted in Italy and Romania. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Conductors Guild, a national service organization for conductors.
