During the period between August 19, 2024, through August 25, 2024, members of the GRPD handled 358 calls for service, the highlights of which included:
08-19-2024
1:53 PM – The manager of Bottle King Liquors on Prospect Street reported that a male subject shoplifted $107 worth of liquor from the store just after 9:30 AM. The manager was able to provide the responding officer with video surveillance images of the suspect. The matter has been referred to the Detective Bureau for further investigation.
08-20-2024
9:57 AM – The management of Bertin Engineering at 66 Glen Avenue reported discovering graffiti painted on the side of one of their work vehicles, a Chevy Express cargo truck. The unknown actors had used blue spray paint to write on the side of the vehicle. The nature of the graffiti did not constitute a threat, nor was it bias in nature.
According to the complainant this occurred sometime during the last week of July, and it was their belief that it may have occurred in their parking lot, however, that could not be confirmed.
08-20-2024
10:08 AM – A Kinnelon resident reported the theft of their 2022 Land Rover which had been parked along Main Street near Rodney Street. According to the complainant they parked the vehicle at that location on the afternoon of August 16th and discovered it was missing at the time of the report. According to the complainant the vehicle was locked, and they were in possession of both key fobs.
The vehicle was entered into NCIC as stolen, and the Detective Bureau is currently investigating.

4:00 PM – A Glen Rock resident reported that over the past few weeks they became aware of multiple security breaches on their banking and financial accounts, as well as fraudulent activity on their credit cards. They also began experiencing issues with their email account and began receiving hundreds of text messages which appeared to be scams.
They have taken the necessary steps to notify the credit bureaus and have placed fraud alerts on their accounts. The matter was referred to the Detective Bureau for review.
08-21-2024
3:56 PM – Following an investigation into an incident which was reported to have occurred at the Rock Farmer’s Market at 924 Prospect Street on the evening of August 17th, Det. Lucas Doney arrested Richard Larrivieri, age 26 of Fair Lawn, NJ for Criminal Sexual Contact N.J.S.A. 2C:14-3B.
On the date of the incident a 46-year-old North Haledon woman reported that while she was shopping in the store a male subject followed her closely in the store and then rubbed his hand across her thigh and buttock, intentionally. She did not know who the man was, and he subsequently fled the store. The initial investigating officer, Sgt. Robert Wojtecki, was able to obtain video images from the store. These images later allowed Detectives to identify the actor.
The actor was processed at Police Headquarters and released on his own recognizance, in accordance with bail reform requirements, pending an appearance before Central Judicial Processing at the Superior Court in Hackensack.
These charges are merely accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
08-24-2024
5:52 PM – A Franklin Lakes couple reported that they were the victims of a road rage incident while driving to the Glen Rock Central Business District (CBD). They had been involved in two incidents with the driver of a black Audi convertible, one at Rock Road and Maple Avenue and a second at Rock Road and Glen Avenue. The driver of the Audi reportedly threatened the complainant and then parked near their vehicle in the CBD. There was no reported physical contact. The alleged actor, a white male in his 50s or 60s, had left the area prior to police assistance being requested. The complainant was advised of their right to sign a complaint with the Glen Rock Municipal Court.
08-25-2024
5:52 AM – Patrols were dispatched to a burglary alarm activation at the Rock Ridge Pharmacy in the Rock Road Central Business District. Upon arrival officers found that entry had been forced to the pharmacy through the front glass door. Officers cleared the interior of the building confirming that the actors had fled the scene. Little inside had been disturbed. When the owner arrived, a preliminary inventory determined that promethazine cough syrup had been stolen.
The scene was processed by Crime Scene Investigators from the Bergen County Sheriff’s Department BCI who responded along with Glen Rock Detectives. The investigation is continuing in cooperation with other law enforcement agencies in the region who have experienced similar pharmacy burglaries.

10:19 AM – The Glen Rock Police Department assisted the NJ Department of Transportation in documenting and photographing graffiti on the highway sound barrier along Route 208 South adjacent to William Place, as well as the highway underpass near the Boulevard. The matter has been referred to state authorities for further action.
