The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit is investigating a fatal hit-and-run crash involving a pedestrian that occurred in the area of Lincoln Avenue between Dixie Avenue and Parker Avenue in Glen Rock, on Monday, January 30, 2023, at approximately 6:38 a.m.
The car involved, reportedly a Honda CRV fled the scene and was last reported seen traveling northbound on Lincoln Avenue in Glen Rock near the Lincoln Avenue overpass of Route 208.
A tanker truck driver witnessed the incident and immediately began rendering first aid to the individual prior to the arrival of emergency responders. The victim was rushed to a local hospital by ambulance and died shortly after arriving.
The investigation is being conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Jason Love and the Glen Rock Police Department under the direction of Chief Dean Ackermann. No additional information is available at this time.
The victim’s name is being withheld pending next-of-kin notification.
