4:33 PM – The adult son of a Glen Rock woman contacted police reporting that his mother had been the victim of a “grandparent” scam.  Upon interviewing the woman, she recounted receiving a phone call from an individual stating that her grandchild was in jail and needed money for bail.  The victim subsequently withdrew $ 9,800 from the bank and a man showed up at her home to collect the money.

Later in the day she received another call stating that they needed more money and would return to pick it up.  It was at this juncture that she contacted her son who called police.  The actor did not return to the home.  The Detective Bureau is currently investigating.

5:32 PM – A Hillsdale woman reported that she was the victim of a road rage incident which occurred on Lincoln Avenue near Diamond Bridge.  She recounted that she pulled over to yield to an ambulance with its emergency equipment activated.  When she reentered the roadway, a white SUV began tailgating her.  When both vehicles stopped for a red light, the occupant of the white SUV, described as a white female, exited her vehicle and approached.  The woman reportedly began screaming obscenities at the complainant and spit on her window.  The victim was able to obtain the actor’s license plate number and called 9-1-1 for assistance.

A Detective interviewed the complainant and determined that the actual contact occurred in the Borough of Hawthorne.  The complainant was referred to the Hawthorne Municipal Court to sign a complaint.

12:33 AM – A resident on the 400 block of Maple Avenue reported observing unknown individuals, possibly juveniles, remove and take a flag which was hanging near the front door of their next-door neighbor’s home.  Officers spoke with the neighbor, who confirmed that a flag was missing from the front of their home.  However, the homeowner did not see or hear anything.  Officers checked the surrounding streets, but no one was observed in the area.

6:17 PM – Patrols and EMS personnel were dispatched to the parking lot of the Prospect Street Stores, on the 800 block of Prospect Street, in response to a 9-1-1 report of a woman struck by a motor vehicle.  Investigation found that a 92-year-old Fair Lawn woman was struck by a 2010 Honda as she was walking across the parking lot.  The driver of the vehicle, a 36-year-old Glen Rock man, remained on the scene.

The woman was transported to Hackensack University Medical Center, by the Glen Rock Volunteer Ambulance Corps, with non-life-threatening injuries.
