Glen Rock to face Waldwick-Midland Park in playoffs

No. 10 Panthers travel to Waldwick Friday to face NJIC rival No. 7 Warriors


The Glen Rock High School team will face a longtime foe in the first round of the North Jersey Group 2 football playoffs when the Panthers travel to Waldwick Friday night for a matchup against Waldwick-Midland Park. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.

The Warriors (6-2) are the No. 7 seed in North Jersey, while Glen Rock (5-2) is the No. 10 seed. Both teams are in the North Jersey Interscholastic Conference, but Waldwick-Midland Park is in the Colonial Division, while Glen Rock is in the Liberty Division. Waldwick-Midland Park won its division with a 4-0 record. Glen Rock was 2-2 in the Liberty.

The two teams did not play each other this season or last. They last played in the season opener for both teams in 2019, when Waldwick-Midland Park won, 27-0, at Glen Rock. The Panthers won at Waldwick, 20-14 in 2019. Waldwick has won four of the last six meetings.
