To my readers,
With all the cutbacks at the media conglomerates (like Gannet), local newspapers are no longer local. We see this in the Glen Rock Gazette. It used to be full of Town news and was 46 pages before its decline. It is now 24 pages and mainly ads and only a few things about Glen Rock.
I want to change that here in Glen Rock NJ. I feel that with the right support from Glen Rockers and others that believe in local news, we can be local and in print. Many just turn to digital news now, but that is not for everyone. There are many people that still like opening up a weekly paper all about the happenings around town. Seeing pictures of their kids, grandkids and even their friends. Also, we have many people that do not do the digital news.
We have added a daily newsletter, Glen Rock Organization pages, High School and Recreation league schedules and more is still coming to make this the one place to go for Glen Rock News. These plus the rest of the daily need to know info will also be in print.
To get this done, I need your help. I have set up a crowdfunding campaign that would help put Glen Rock News Today back into print. Less ads, more news. It will also help hire freelance reporters and other staff to have more news out to you in a more timely fashion.
If you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask. Also feel free to share this with your contacts that believe in local news.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
Julie
