8:55 AM – A Glen Rock man reported receiving a credit alert of fraudulent activity in his wife’s name. An inquiry with Chase Bank determined that an attempt to open an account using her information had been unsuccessful. Little information was provided to the complainant by Chase Bank. The detective bureau is currently reviewing the matter.
11:46 AM – Loss prevention personnel for the American BD Company/Opici Wines, located at 25 De Boer Drive, reported the theft of scrap metal from their property. The company was requested to provide video surveillance footage to the detective bureau for review.
4:13 PM – Officers were called to a Nottingham Road home by a friend of the homeowner who was checking the home while the resident was away. It was reported that a large fish tank in the basement appeared to have been tampered with and it was possible that a lighting system was missing. The complainant found that a bilco door was unlocked and possible pry marks on an interior door. The scene was processed by crime scene personnel from the Bergen County Sheriff’s Department BCI unit.
Upon the resident’s return home, he reported that over $20,000 worth of lights, pumps, electronics and corals related to the maintenance of fish tanks were stolen along with $ 2,200 in cash and Oxycodone tablets. The homeowner suspects that individuals with whom he has had business disputes over the purchase of fish tank supplies may have been involved. The detective bureau is currently investigating.
12:23 AM Officers were dispatched to a reported disturbance in the area of Berry Place. The cause was determined to be related to an issue at on the 300 block of Lincoln Avenue in Hawthorne. Glen Rock officers were able to calm the situation which was subsequently turned over to Hawthorne Police.
1:02 AM – Officers were dispatched to investigate a report of an injured dog laying in the roadway at East Gramercy Place and Prospect Street. The dog was appeared to have been struck by a vehicle and was transported by P.O. John Tarantino to the Oradell Animal Hospital in Paramus.

2:34 AM – During the course of a motor vehicle stop at Ackerman Avenue and Maple Avenue, Sgt. Bryan Scott arrested a 27-year-old East Stroudsburg PA man for DWI. The driver was transported to police HQ where he was processed and released to a sober adult in accordance with John’s Law.
The driver was also issued traffic summonses for speeding, careless driving, unsafe lane change, and failure to notify DMV of change of address.
7:02 PM – Patrols responded to assist Fair Lawn Police officers at Gibson Place and Godfrey Terrance. A burglary suspect had struck a Fair Lawn Police Officer with a motor vehicle after being confronted on a neighboring Fair Lawn street. The vehicle was pursued into Glen Rock where the driver lost control, struck a tree and rolled over on to the front lawn of a Gibson Place home.
The suspect fled on foot and was apprehended in the rear yard of a Glen Rock home. Ridgewood Police and the Bergen County Sheriff’s Department also assisted on scene. Read the article here.
08:38 AM – Patrols were dispatched to multiple 9-1-1 reports of a motorcyclist struck by a vehicle at Prospect and Cornwall. The motorcyclist, a 45-year-old Glen Rock man, was transported to Hackensack University Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the vehicle, a 35-year-old Glen Rock woman, was issued a summons for careless driving. The accident was investigated by P.O. Adam Pyatak. Read the article here.
4:36 AM – During the course of a motor vehicle stop on Lincoln Avenue, P.O. John Tarantino arrested a 63-year-old Hawthorne man for DWI. The driver was transported to police HQ where he was processed and released to a sober adult in accordance with John’s Law.
The driver was also issued traffic summonses for reckless driving and unsafe lane change.
