12:13 PM – As the result of an ongoing investigation, Det. Sgt. Calaski and Det. Doney arrested a 44-year-old Port Jervis, NY man for hindering apprehension and possession of narcotic paraphernalia. It was determined that the actor had given a false name to an officer during a motor vehicle stop to hinder his apprehension on an active criminal warrant out of Pennsylvania. The man was given a court date on the Glen Rock charges and was then lodged in the Bergen County Jail pending his extradition on the Pennsylvania warrant.

5:56 PM – During a motor vehicle stop, P.O. Holguin arrested a 43-year-old Greenwood Lake, NJ man for possession of heroin. The man also had an outstanding criminal warrant out of the Passaic County Sheriff’s Office for possession of narcotics. The man was charged and subsequently remanded to the Bergen County Jail pending an appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack, NJ. P.O. Graziani, P.O. Evans and Sgt. Carter assisted with the arrest.

12:50 PM – P.O. Onove responded to the area of 234 Rock Road on a report of a motor vehicle accident with a car into a building. Investigation determined that the 76-year-old driver was attempting to park in the angled parking spots near the front of Francesca’s located at 234 Rock Road. The driver hit the gas pedal instead of the brake causing the vehicle to collide with the front wall of 234 Rock Road. Only minor injuries were reported as a result of the collision. 234 Rock Road sustained damage to its front wall and glass window. P.O. Donnelly and Sgt. Scott assisted with the investigation.

4:47 PM – A Boulevard resident reported the theft of a package. The resident stated that he received an email notification that a package was delivered to his residence. Upon arriving home, the package was found to be missing. The detective bureau is investigating.
10-4-2018
5:33 PM – A resident of Woodvale Road reported the theft of several checks. The resident stated that he placed several checks for various payments in his mailbox for delivery. He later received notification that those bills were never paid. The victim stated that when he checked with his bank, the checks he mailed had been endorsed and cashed by an unknown party. The detective bureau is investigating.

02:20 AM – Sgt. Wojtecki, P.O. McGill and P.O. Pyatak were dispatched to the area of Sycamore Terrace on a report of a fire. Upon arrival, officers found an active fire in the basement of the residence with a heavy smoke condition throughout the house. The Glen Rock Fire Department responded and extinguished the fire with the assistance of the Ridgewood, Hawthorne, Fair Lawn, Wyckoff and Paramus Fire Departments. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

1:41 PM – During a motor vehicle stop, P.O. Graziani arrested a 29-year-old Paterson, NJ man on an active criminal warrant out of West Orange. The man was detained at the Glen Rock Police Department and then turned over to the West Orange Police Department on their warrant.
