5:17 PM – Task Force Detectives with the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office apprehended a 26-year-old Greenwood Lake NY man wanted on an active criminal warrant issued by the Glen Rock Municipal Court in 2014. Unable to post $300 bail the man was taken into custody by P.O. James Mc Gill and transported to the Bergen County Jail with the assistance of a Prosecutor’s Detective.

2:02 PM – A Glen Rock resident was notified by the Bank of America that a hold had been placed on his savings account. According to bank officials an unknown individual with false ID in the complainant’s name attempted to withdraw money from the account at a Branch in New York City. The bank did not permit the transaction. Detectives are conferring with bank representatives on this matter.

4:10 PM – The US Postal Inspection Service notified Glen Rock Detectives that the postal box at De Boer Drive and Harristown had been broken into sometime overnight. As of this time Postal Service has not been able to determine how many letters were taken. US Postal Inspectors are currently investigating approximately 40 postal boxes which have been tampered with in the Bergen County area. Residents who become aware that any of their letters have been compromised are asked to contact the police agency in the community where the letter was mailed or the US Postal Inspectors at (877) 876-2455.

4:42 PM – During the course of a motor vehicle stop on Route 208 South, P.O. T.J. Graziani arrested both the driver and passenger on outstanding warrants. The driver, a 27-year-old Paterson man was arrested on a warrant issued by the Paterson Municipal Court. He was transported to Police HQ where he posted $500 bail and was released pending an appearance in Paterson. The passenger, a 29-year-old Paterson woman, was arrested on a criminal warrant issued by the Elmwood Park Municipal Court. She was also transported to Police HQ where she posted $750 bail and was released pending an appearance in Elmwood Park.
The driver was also issued a summons for operating an uninsured vehicle.

6:04 PM – Following an investigation begun on March 9th, 2018 into the theft of cash from Kilroy’s Wonder Market, Det. Lucas Doney arrested an employee who was identified by the store’s video surveillance system. According to the complaint made by store management, the employee was suspected of taking $17,974 over the course of a prolonged period through fraudulent transactions at her register. The subject, a 26-year-old Glen Rock woman, was charged with 3rd degree theft and released on her own recognizance pending an appearance before Superior Court Central Judicial Processing in Hackensack on March 30th, 2018. The investigation conducted by Detectives was only able to confirm just over $12,000 taken since January of 2017.

5:00 PM – Following a two-month investigation into stolen payroll checks which were written on the account of a Lincoln Avenue dental practice, Det. Lucas Doney arrested a 21-year-old Hackensack woman on 3rd degree theft charges. Investigation found that she stole and wrote to herself five checks totaling $ 2,988.62. The woman was processed and released on her own recognizance pending an appearance before Superior Court Central Judicial Processing in Hackensack on March 30th, 2018.

6:13 PM – The Passaic County Sheriff’s Department apprehended a 20-year-old Paterson man wanted on a criminal warrant issued by the Glen Rock Municipal Court. He was turned over to the custody of Det. Lucas Doney and P.O. T.J. Graziani who transported the man back to Glen Rock Police HQ. The subject was released after a 3rd party posted $750 bail for him. An appearance in Glen Rock Municipal Court is pending.

5:47 AM – Patrols were dispatched to Prospect Street by Locust Avenue to investigate a 9-1-1 report of a suspicious vehicle on a resident’s lawn with a female sleeping inside. P.O. Bob Surdyka and P.O. John Tarantino arrived to find the female asleep in the driver’s seat. Investigation determined that her vehicle was traveling south on Prospect Street, left the roadway and drove up onto the lawn of a residence, drove across the entire front yard and uprooted shrubbery before coming to rest on the lawn.
The vehicles occupant, a 47-year-old Rockaway woman, was determined to be the vehicle’s registered owner and the driver. She was arrested by P.O. John Tarantino for DWI, and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was found to be in possession of two crack pipes and empty baggies containing suspected crack cocaine residue.
The woman, who was not injured, was transported to Police HQ where she was processed and released to the custody of a sober adult in accordance with John’s Law. She was also issued additional summonses for refusal to submit to breath tests and careless driving.

1:28 PM – A representative of a T-Mobile sub-contractor who maintains cell tower sites on Prospect Street and on Doremus Avenue reported the theft of eight backup batteries. A string of four backup batteries were taken from each site. The batteries typically weigh upward of 40 pounds each and are valued at a total of $1,846. They were discovered missing between January 17th and January 23rd, 2018. It is unknown when the thefts occurred or why the contractor waited two months to file a police report.

4:40 PM – A Glen Rock resident reported his bicycle missing from the area of the Municipal Building. According to the report the man secured his blue Trek mountain bike to the bicycle rack with a lock around 7:40 AM and discovered it missing when he returned at 6:30 PM. Neither the lock or any other evidence was recovered in the area. Detectives are in the process of checking video surveillance footage of the area.

1:28 AM – During the course of a motor vehicle stop on Route 208 South, P.O. Jim Donnelly arrested a 30-year-old Jersey City man for DWI. The man was transported to Police HQ where he was processed and released to the custody of a sober family member in accordance with John’s Law. He was issued additional summonses for speeding (94 MPH in a 55 MPH Zone), careless driving, failure to maintain lane, failure to keep right, improper display of license plates, improper safety glass, and obstructed windshield.

1:12 AM – During the course of a motor vehicle stop on Prospect Street, Sgt. Bryan Scott arrested a 33-year-old Newark man on active warrants issued by the Wayne Township Municipal Court. The man was transported to Police HQ where he posted $ 1,120 bail and was released pending an appearance in Wayne. He was also issued summonses for driving with a suspended license, operating an unregistered vehicle, failure to notify DMV of address change, and failure to possess vehicle registration.
