3:12 AM – Sgt. Greg Carter responded to Route 208 South to investigate a broadcast from the Franklin Lakes Police Department concerning a black Jeep which had fled from a motor vehicle stop in their jurisdiction. Sgt. Carter located and attempted to stop the vehicle which failed to pull over and continued south on Route 208. With the assistance of an officer from Fair Lawn Police Department he pursued the vehicle to the Garden State Parkway Southbound where he broke off from the pursuit.

January 31

3:07 PM – A Glen Rock woman reported that she was the victim of theft by deception after she purchased a carpet from a retailer in December who subcontracted the installation to a third-party installer. Subsequently the retailer terminated their business relationship with the installer who had already received a deposit for the work. Investigation determined that the installer was still under contract with the retailer at the time payment was received, he had just recently received the carpet to be installed and was fully prepared to do the work or issue a refund. As there was no evidence to support that the circumstances were a criminal matter further police involvement was not appropriate. The complainant was advised that this is a civil matter which she will need to resolve with the installer on her own.

3:07 PM – A Maple Avenue resident reported that she received a shipment via UPS and found that the package appeared to have been opened and resealed. Inspection of the package determined that a bracelet valued at $61.94 was removed and only the invoice remained. The detective bureau is following up with UPS on the matter.

5:26 PM – During the course of a motor vehicle stop on Route 208 North P.O. Sarah Orsita arrested a 22-year-old Mahwah man on an active criminal warrant issued by the Fair Lawn Municipal Court. Unable to post $ 500 bail, the man was turned over to the custody of the Fair Lawn Police Department.

February 2

9:15 PM – P.O. T.J. Graziani was dispatched to investigate a report of an unresponsive male on the sidewalk in the area of Maple Avenue and Rock Road. Upon arrival he found a 37-year-old Clifton man lying on the sidewalk in a highly intoxicated state with a beer in his hand. The man was disoriented, did not know where he was and could not account for how he got to Glen Rock. As his state was such that he was unable to take care of himself, the man was transported by the Glen Rock Volunteer Ambulance Corps to Valley Hospital for treatment and detox.

February 3

12:59 AM – During the course of a motor vehicle stop on Harristown Road, P.O. T.J. Graziani arrested the passenger, a 21-year-old Prospect Park man for possession of Marijuana under 50 grams. The man was transported to Police HQ where he was processed and released on his own recognizance pending an appearance in Glen Rock Municipal Court on February 20. The driver, a 21-year-old Paterson woman, was issued a motor vehicle summons for having no working break lights.

February 4

4:58 PM – A Glen Rock man reported that an unknown individual attempted to make a purchase at a restaurant in Jenison, MI using his credit card. An inquiry with the establishment found that the transaction had been declined. The matter was referred to the detective bureau for review.
