Update: The Panthers’ consolation game will be Thursday, Nov. 9 at Hawthorne at a time to be finalized later. It will either be 6 p.m. or 7 p.m.
The Glen Rock High School football team bounced back from a disappointing loss with a big win Friday, beating Harrison, 45-0, at Alan Deaett Field. Senior quarterback Dom Patania threw four touchdown passes – three to senior wide receiver Will Scherer – and ran for another in the Panthers’ final regular season game of the season.
Junior receiver Ashton Dalessio caught the other touchdown and senior running back Matt Sapoff scored on a five-yard rush. Junior Justin Douenias added a field goal as the Panthers evened their season record at 4-4. Harrison is 1-7.
The win came a week after Glen Rock’s playoff hopes were dashed with a 24-14 loss to Lyndhurst. The Panthers will play one more game this season, a consolation game next week against an opponent still to be determined.
