I join the chorus of enthusiastic supporters in sharing my endorsement of Glen Rock Council candidate Eileen Hillock. While I am a life-long democrat with strong feelings about many national issues, I have always been party-agnostic on the local level. What is important for me in municipal elections is a candidate who has demonstrated positive contributions to our town and has a vision for Glen Rock going forward.
Eileen’s qualifications and track record are impressive. Her robust resume reflects more than 20 years of professional financial and risk management experience, which she has skillfully applied to her myriad roles in Glen Rock including as an effective member of the Board of Education and the Chamber of Commerce. Since most town council priorities are ultimately reflected in the municipal budget, Eileen would be an ideal steward for balancing fiscal responsibility while maintaining quality borough services in the future.
Part of the special fabric that drew me to Glen Rock 28 years ago was the pervasive sense of community where neighbors peacefully and often cheerfully interact, transcending any differences that might be divisive elsewhere. In the more than two decades that Eileen has lived in Glen Rock, she has tirelessly and creatively applied her volunteer efforts in support of the full scope of our town’s demographics, including children, young parents, empty-nesters, seniors, pet owners and our furry friends themselves.
Glen Rockers are fortunate to have four strong women running for town council this year, each showing passion for and dedication to the betterment of Glen Rock. However, Eileen Hillock and her running mate, Michelle Torpey, distinguish themselves by their clear vision, substantive priorities, and demonstrated track record of making a difference. Glen Rock has always been a special town to come home to. A vote for Hillock and Torpey ensures our town will continue to have that singular appeal.
