As 18-year Glen Rock residents, we offer this short note to express our enthusiastic support for Amy Martin and Arati Kreibich for Borough Council. Amy and Arati, aptly named “The A Team,” offer valuable experience, courage, inclusiveness and action.
Amy Martin has demonstrated a longstanding commitment to our community through her work on the Council. Importantly, she showed remarkable resilience in the face of personal loss and professional challenge when Glen Rock politics was at its absolute worst during the GRPD crisis. She persevered and continued to get important work done for our town.
Speaking of getting important work done, Arati Kreibich was instrumental in activating and organizing Glen Rockers before, during and after the 2017 Women’s March on Washington. As the parents of two daughters, we are very proud of the way Glen Rock stood up during this time, and very grateful to Arati and the other leaders who made it happen.
In addition, we agree with the adage that all politics are local. That’s where policy is acted on, and that’s where candidates for higher office are drawn from. In this unfortunate time in which a national voice has been given to hate, fear and ignorance, we feel it is extremely important to elect local officials who share our values, particularly around protecting vulnerable populations, advancing diversity/inclusion, safeguarding women’s reproductive rights, and defending the environment. That is unquestionably Amy and Arati.
