Glen Rock needs two Council representatives this election year. We need team players not individually pandering politicians. My choices for Glen Rock Borough Council are Eileen Hillock, and Michelle Torpey.
Eileen Hillock is an accomplished executive with 20 years of experience in the corporate financial services industry, a former Morgan Stanley Global Risk Management director, and a Wharton School of Business Securities Industry Program graduate. As a Board of Education member, she chaired the Five-Year Strategic Planning Committee, something that is missing at the Council level.
Eileen is an active volunteer in Glen Rock. She has been a Girl Scout and boy scout troop leader, Junior Football Association board member, Vice President of Glen Rock Newcomers, and a CCD teacher for 10 years. Most recently, she assisted her daughter Michelle in spearheading the development of a dog park in Glen Rock — raising funds for this purpose. Eileen is also currently serving as the VP of the Chamber of Commerce. From school, to church, to community activities, Eileen has a well-deserved reputation as one of Glen Rock’s most active volunteers.
Michelle is the current President of Byrd School HSA, Boy Scout Troop Leader, President of the Glen Rock for the Holidays Committee and more. Michelle is a licensed Pharmacist and spearheaded a program with our local pharmacy to collect unused and outdated prescriptions. This idea is working on positive solutions to address the drug issues prevalent throughout our community and state.
Michelle is a Scout leader and active member in her church. She has the volunteer experience to understand the needs of the community.
This election is important for all Glen Rock residents. It will change the complexion of our Borough Council with two candidates that can help change and improve our Council. We as residents deserve the best candidates, those with great communication skills, honesty and intelligence with budgets that help to control our property taxes. Hillock and Torpey are the only candidates that have the characteristics for excellence. If it takes a village then there is no room for the word “ I”. It’s all of us working together to keep Glen Rock our community to come home to. As your Councilman for the past 12 years and Chair of the Finance Committee, I am proud to support and endorse Eileen Hillock and Michelle Torpey for Glen Rock Borough Council. Both of these candidates are the A PLUS Team.
