10:06 AM –  A Wellesley Road resident reported an ongoing issue with an individual trespassing in the yard of the residence after being asked not to do so.  The alleged actor was contacted and denied being on the property.  The complainant has been referred to the Glen Rock Municipal Court to sign a complaint if desired.


2:23 PM – The manager of CVS at 175 Rock Road reported confronting a shoplifter who was trying to leave the store with $46.13 worth of shampoo.  The merchandise was recovered, however, the actor fled before police could be called.  Upon viewing the video footage Det. Mike Trover recognized the actor, a 35-year-old man last known to live in Paterson, and issued a shoplifting complaint.  The man is currently homeless and efforts to contact him through family members have been unsuccessful.


3:19 PM –  During the course of a motor vehicle stop on Rutland Road, P.O. Nick Onove arrested a 55-year-old Paterson man on active criminal warrants out of Caldwell.  The man indicated that he was having chest pains and was subsequently transported to Valley Hospital in Ridgewood for treatment.  He was also issued a summons for having open alcohol in a motor vehicle.


3:22 PM –  The manager of the CVS at 175 Rock Road reported a shoplifting which had occurred on July 16th at 4:45 PM.  The manager recounted that she had observed a male subject concealing what would later be determined to be $2,486.26 worth of merchandise in a bag.  Store employees confronted the man as he was attempting to leave the store without paying. The man fled the store and left the area in a vehicle.

It was learned that a suspect fitting this man’s description was arrested at the CVS in Midland Park shortly after this incident occurred.  After a review of video surveillance footage Det. Mike Trover obtained an arrest warrant for a 32-year-old Brooklyn NY man charging one count of 3rd degree shoplifting.  The arrest warrant was served on the actor who was already incarcerated at the Bergen County Jail.  A hearing before the Superior Court Central Judicial Processing is pending.


3:46 PM –  A Dunham Place resident reported $701.99 worth of unauthorized transactions on his Capital One Master Card.  Upon reviewing his account, he determined at 12 separate charges were made in California on July 12th.  The transactions occurred at 3 different locations involving the same retailer. The Detective Bureau is reviewing the matter in cooperation with the retailer.


5:34 PM – A Glen Rock woman reported that she was harassed while walking her dog on Lowell Road.  She did not know the identity of the specific individuals involved, but believed they lived at a Lowell Road residence.  The matter was documented and the woman was advised of the procedures to file a formal complaint with the court if desired.


5:42 PM –  During the course of a motor vehicle stop on Grandview Avenue P.O. Bryan Scott arrested a 21-year-old Manchester man on active warrants issued by the Wall Township and Fairfield Municipal Courts. The man was unable to post a total of $785 bail.  Neither jurisdiction had the resources available to pick up the subject, he was subsequently released on his own recognizance with new court dates.  He was also issued summonses for driving with a suspended license, operating an uninsured vehicle and failure to produce documents.


7:35 PM –  A Ridgewood woman reported that her bicycle, valued at $500, was stolen from the bicycle rack at the NJ Transit Boro Hall Train Station.  She had secured the bicycle to the rack with a lock before getting on a train at about 6:20 AM and discovered it missing when she returned at 6:30 PM.


8:11 PM –  A Fair Lawn woman reported receiving a phone call from a Glen Rock Chinese restaurant seeking to confirm an order placed in her name, using her credit card.  The woman had not place the order and upon checking he credit card account found that two additional orders had been charged to her account over the last few months.  The Detective Bureau is reviewing the matter with the cooperation of the restaurant’s management.


11:02 AM –  The Sussex County Sheriff’s Department detained a 36-year-old Highland Lakes man who was wanted by the Glen Rock Municipal Court on a no bail criminal warrant.  The man was subsequently taken into custody by Sgt. Rob Wojtecki and P.O. Nick Onove who transported him to the Bergen County Jail.


7:19 PM –  The manager of Bottle King Liquors on Prospect Street reported an individual attempting to purchase alcohol with a fraudulent ID.  P.O. Sam Evans subsequently arrested 20-year-old Clifton man for possession of a forged NJ Driver’s License.  The actor was processed at Police HQ and released on his own recognizance pending an appearance in Glen Rock Municipal Court on July 25th.


4:56 PM –  During the course of a motor vehicle stop on Route 208 P.O. John Tarantino arrested a 55-year-old Newark man on active warrants issued by the Newark and North Caldwell Municipal Courts.  The man was transported to Police HQ where he posted a total of $750 bail and was released pending an appearance Newark and North Caldwell.  He was also issued summonses for careless driving and driving with a suspended license.
