During the period between May 15th 2017 and May 21st 2017 members of the GRPD handled 297 calls for service, the highlights of which included:
05-15-2017
6:13 PM– A resident on the 200 block of Glen Avenue reported a hit and run motor vehicle accident. A silver Honda Civic which had been legally parked in front of her house was sideswiped by an unknown vehicle which left the scene. Anyone who may have witnessed the accident and can identify the vehicle involved is asked to contact the Glen Rock Police Department at (201) 652-3800.
05-15-2017
7:35 PM – A Glen Avenue resident reported being notified of unauthorized activity on his credit card. A total of $1,700 worth of charges had been made from out of state. The transactions were voided by the bank and the card canceled.

6:24 PM – A 40-year-old Oakland man was detained by the Allendale Police Department on an active warrant issued by the Glen Rock Municipal Court. Unable to post $1,500 bail, the subject was taken into custody by P.O. Bob Surdyka and P.O. Sarah Orsita who transported him to the Bergen County Jail.

11:06 PM – During the course of a motor vehicle stop at Lincoln and Boulevard, P.O. T.J. Graziani arrested a 27-year-old Elizabeth man on an active warrant out of the South Plainfield Municipal Court. The man was transported to Glen Rock PD HQ where he posted $400 bail and was released pending an appearance in South Plainfield at a later date.

1:45 PM – A 21-year-old Hawthorne woman was detained by the Passaic County Sheriff’s Department on an active criminal warrant issued by the Glen Rock Municipal Court. Unable to post $289 bail, she was taken into custody by P.O. Matt Stanislao and P.O. James Mc Gill who transported her to the Bergen County Jail.
05-19-2017
5:13 PM – An Isabella Place resident heard breaking glass while inside their home. The resident subsequently discovered a broken window in a second-floor bed room. Investigation found that an apple had been thrown through the window causing the damage. Neither the residents nor anyone in the neighborhood saw anyone in the area at the time of the incident. Anyone who may have witnessed this incident and can identify a suspect is asked to contact the Glen Rock Police Department at (201) 652-3800.

9:55 AM – Det. Mike Trover arrested a 20-year-old Englewood woman for shoplifting. The arrest was the result of an investigation into a May 8th theft of $111.13 worth of alcohol from Bottle King Liquors on Prospect Street. The woman was released on her own recognizance pending a June 13th, 2017 appearance in Glen Rock Municipal court.

10:38 AM – A Delmar Avenue resident reported that his wallet containing $180 in cash, credit cards and personal identification was missing from his home. The wallet went missing sometime overnight while houseguests were present.

12:45 PM – A Doremus Avenue resident reported leaving his wallet in his unlocked vehicle, which was left unattended in the parking lot of Hamilton School while attending a sporting event. Upon returning he discovered $40 cash and credit cards missing. A check with the credit card companies showed activity on the cards during this time period. The detective bureau is following up on the credit cards transactions in an effort to identify a possible suspect. There are no known witnesses and no other evidence was recovered.
