Central Schools brownie troop 95949 set out to do random acts of kindness for their last meeting of the year. These random acts of kindness came with a twist. They had to follow clues to where the next act of kindness was.
5 teams headed out to 5 different locations then rotated through all of the locations. The locations included
- Kilroys
- The Mayors Office
- Curious Reader
- GR Library
- Glen Courts
Some of the tasks included: Reading to younger children, singing to Glen Courts residents, handing out a potted plant, that they all helped plant, at Borough Hall, and helping shoppers with their groceries.
I had a great time today greeting a number of groups of brownies who, as a part of their Amazing Race, very enthusiastically put together pots of flowers and delivered them to various staff members that I named for them, at Borough Hall.-Mayor Bruce Packer
The scavenger hunt ended up with a pizza party at Wilde Memorial Park.
This great event was organized by Central School mom of 4, Jennifer Scherer. Jennifer owns her own event company called www.magnifiedevents.com. A unique aspect to Magnified Events, is that she employs only women; primarily only stay-at-home moms in Glen Rock. Jennifer commented when asked why she did this event, “I am so fortunate to have a job that I love and am happy to give back to Glen Rock (where this all started) in this Brownie event! “
