The tough early season schedule appears to be paying off for the Glen Rock High School boys lacrosse team, as the Panthers have been playing their best lacrosse as they head into their first Bergen County Tournament game Saturday at the Glen Rock High School Stadium Field at 11 a.m. The team will honor its five seniors in its Senior Day festivities.
Thursday’s 12-3 road victory over Pascack Valley was the Panthers’ fifth straight, and the second in the week, following a 14-5 win over Pequannock on Tuesday. The team currently has a 7-4 record overall, and a 5-1 record in the NJILL – Jacobson Division.
Sophomores Justin Douenias and John Corry continue to lead the team in scoring, with Douenias registering 28 goals and 18 assists, while Corry has 25 goals and 22 assists. Douenias had four goals and two assists against Pascack Valley and Corry had three goals and two assists. The team has three other players – juniors Thomas Consoli (19), Sean Egan (18) and Liam Horton (14) – with double figures in goals. Freshman goaltender Colin Consoli has been in net for all five games of the winning streak and has posted a 6-4 record with a 6.33 goals-against average and a save percentage of .549.
