3:56 PM – A 23-year-old Ringwood man was detained by the Morris County Sheriff’s Department on an arrest warrant issued by the Glen Rock Municipal Court. Unable to post $776 bail, the defendant was turned over to the custody of P.O. Bob Surdyka and P.O. Sarah Orsita who transported the man to the Bergen County Jail.

6:23 PM – During the course of motor vehicle stop on Route 208, Det. Mike Trover detained a 38-year-old White Stone NY man who was wanted by the Fair Lawn Municipal Court on an active warrant. The man was turned over to the custody of the Fair Lawn Police Department.

11:21 PM – During the course of a motor vehicle stop on Boulevard, P.O. Murray Yang arrested a 21-year-old Glen Rock man on an active warrant out of the Midland Park Municipal Court. The man was released after posting $250 bail.

3:13 PM– An Oxford Place resident reported a person posing as a Verizon employee obtained her credit card information through a relative who shares an account with her. Subsequently unauthorized charges were found on the account, which has since been closed. An investigation by Det. Mike Trover determined that a fraudulent charge occurred at a business in the State of Georgia, outside of the GRPD’s jurisdiction. The credit card company is in the process of issuing a refund.

7:50 PM – Patrols responded to a reported fight in progress at the Coleman School baseball field. Upon arrival, the scene was calm and the two parties involved in the alleged fight were separated. Investigation found that the umpire for a girls’ softball game had ejected a parent from the game. The parent, a 53-year-old Elmwood Park man, confronted the umpire after the game and a dispute ensued when the man refused to allow the umpire to leave. At some point the dispute was reported to have become physical. While witnesses claimed the Elmwood Park man was the aggressor, the man denied that claim and requested medical attention for an alleged injury. He was subsequently transported to Valley Hospital by EMS. Both parties were advised of their right to sign a complaint with the Glen Rock Municipal Court. The Glen Rock Director of Recreation will be following up with the girls’ softball league on the matter.

11:56 PM – Patrols responded to the Main Line train station to assist a train crew with disorderly persons on an NJ Transit Train. A 24-year-old man and 20-year-old woman, both from Paterson, were detained and turned over to the Transit Police upon their arrival.

8:06 AM – While on patrol in the area of Cornelia Place, P.O. Will Holguin apprehended a 21-year-old Paterson woman who was a wanted fugitive out of the State of Pennsylvania. The warrant was confirmed with the West Hazelton PA Police Department and the woman was transported to the Bergen County Jail. An extradition hearing will be held in Superior Court.

4:08 PM – A Greenway Road couple reported that cash and jewelry has been discovered missing from their home at various times over the past two months. There have been no signs of forced entry and nothing else was reported to have been disturbed. There are no known witnesses or evidence as of this juncture.

8:28 PM – P.O. Bryan Scott observed an aggressive driver operating on Lincoln Avenue entering onto Route 208 North. During the subsequent motor vehicle stop he arrested both the driver and passenger for possession of approximately one ounce of Marijuana. The driver, an 18-year-old Haskell man was charged with possession of Marijuana under 50 grams and issued motor vehicles summonses for careless driving and operating a motor vehicle while in possession of CDS. The passenger, a 19-year-old Haskell man was charged with possession of Marijuana under 50 grams. Both were released on their own recognizance pending an appearance in Glen Rock Municipal Court on May 16th 2017.
