The Glen Rock Democratic Party is proud to announce Amy Martin and Dr. Arati Kreibich as 2017 candidates for Glen Rock Borough Council.
Amy and Arati quickly realized they shared a deep call to action when they met working on events in the community. They are excited to continue that work to develop diverse events and programs like the Glen Rock Farmer’s Market and Glen Rock Holi event that bring together friends and neighbors in this amazing community.

She is serves as the liaison to the Department of Public Works, Ridgewood Water, the Shade Tree Commission and the Arboretum and previously has sat on the Finance and the Senior Advisory Committees. Amy has an extensive background in acting and directing, having recently started her own production company, Alfa Productions, which specializes in managing the creation of sets and environments for theater and trade shows. Amy has performed widely throughout the country and as a director she has worked on various productions, including two world premiere operas at Symphony Space in New York City. She was classically trained at the Stella Adler Conservatory of Acting and graduated summa cum laude from the Tisch School of the Arts at NYU.
Dr. Arati Kreibich co-founded Glen Rock After the March, the most successful grass roots organization in the borough’s history and the second biggest in the county. She is a member of Glen Rock Environmental Commission and is also active in many Glen Rock based community organizations, including Glen Rock Women In Community Service, the League of Women Voters and in the Glen Rock Indian Community, where she is co-coordinating a Glen Rock Holi event at the Glen Rock Public Library on April 29, 2017. Having earned a Doctorate in Neuroscience from the University of Pennsylvania, she is currently the Director of Research Programs for a non-profit dedicated to finding treatments for a rare muscle disease.
“My family quickly fell in love with Glen Rock and I decided to run for council so that I can put into action the great ideas I have heard from friends, neighbors, and residents that I have met here.” said Arati.
“Arati brings an energy, enthusiasm, and a strong community spirit that resonates loudly and clearly with me. We share a deep-seated sense of civic duty and as we start our campaign, we look forward to listening to our residents’ shared hopes about how Glen Rock can continue to grow and move forward.” said Amy.
