12:47 PM – While investigating a suspicious vehicle with NY plates, which had abruptly pulled into a residential driveway on Fairview Avenue, P.O. Will Holguin arrested two men for possession of a bundle (10 bags) of heroin. The driver, a 37-year-old Haskell, NJ man, was charged with possession of heroin and issued traffic summonses for failure to signal a turn and being an unlicensed driver. He was also found to have an active warrant for his arrest out of the Wanaque Municipal Court. The passenger, a 27-year-old Haskell man was charged with possession of heroin. As both men were determined by the judiciary’s public safety assessment to be high risk, they were transported to the Bergen County Jail pending a hearing before a Superior Court Judge.

10:51 PM – During the course of motor vehicle stop on Lincoln Avenue, P.O. John Tarantino arrested a 21-year-old Paterson man on an active warrant out of the Piscataway Municipal Court. The driver posted $175 bail and was released.

9:30 PM – The mother of a 17-year-old Glen Rock girl reported that her daughter was assaulted while attending an unsupervised house party. Transport to the hospital by ambulance was declined and no witnesses have yet been identified. The detective bureau is reviewing the matter.

2:40 AM – During the course of a motor vehicle stop on Route 208 North, P.O. John Tarantino arrested a 37-year-old Franklin Lakes man for DWI. The driver’s vehicle was impounded and he was transported to Police HQ for processing. The driver was subsequently released to a sober individual in accordance with John’s Law. Additional summonses were issued for speeding and careless driving.

3:40 PM – P.O. T.J. Graziani arrested a 35-year-old Hawthorne man on an active warrant out of the Glen Rock Municipal Court. The man was released upon posting $89 bail.

3:13 AM – During the course of a motor vehicle stop on Route 208 North, P.O. John Tarantino arrested a 19-year-old Hackensack man for DWI. The driver’s vehicle was impounded and he was transported to Police HQ for processing. The driver was subsequently released to a sober individual in accordance with John’s Law. Additional summonses were issued for careless driving, uninspected vehicle, obstructed windshield and unclear plates.

7:48 PM – Patrols, along with members of the Glen Rock and Hawthorne Fire Departments, responded to a West Main Street home on a reported structure fire. The residents had delayed calling for assistance for approximately thirty minutes, attempting to extinguish the flames with a garden hose.
Once the scene was made safe by fire fighters, it was determined that the homeowner, a 40-year-old Glen Rock woman, had set her bedroom on fire while smoking crack cocaine. She was arrested by P.O. John Tarantino for possession of narcotics, possession of drug paraphernalia and maintaining a public nuisance. She was processed at police HQ and transported to the Bergen County Jail pending a hearing before a Superior Court Judge.
Her live-in boyfriend, a 53-year-old Glen Rock man, was treated for smoke inhalation by EMTs from the Glen Rock Ambulance Corps. He refused further medical assistance.
