Former Glen Rock police officer Eric Reamy, who is serving prison time for sexting two teenage girls and for illegally selling guns confiscated by the Glen Rock Police Department, is suing the borough for $37,000 in unused sick and vacation time, according to a story on northjersey.com.
Reamy, 52, was convicted in September 2016 of texting naked pictures of himself to two Glen Rock girls, ages 14 and 17, who were under his charge when he was Police Department’s juvenile officer in 2015. He also was convicted on charges of selling seven guns that were in the department’s possession to local gun shops. Having accepted a pre-indictment plea deal, Reamy was sentenced to three years in prison.
The website reported Friday that Reamy had filed suit on Jan. 27 seeking the money that the borough had agreed to pay him when he filed for retirement several months before his August 2015 arrest.
Glen Rock Mayor Bruce Packer, reached by Banana Tree News on Saturday, said he was not aware of the borough being served notice of a lawsuit by Reamy.
“I was told about the (newspaper) story, but that is the extent of my knowledge, at this point,’’ the mayor said.
