At 7:23 PM this evening, four hours after two children were struck by motor vehicles in two separate incident, a 42-year-old Glen Rock man was struck by a vehicle at Rock Road and Ackerman Avenue. The pedestrian, a commuter who had just gotten of a NJ Transit Bus on Ackerman Avenue, was beginning to cross Rock Road as a vehicle was making a left turn from Ackerman onto Rock. The driver, a 73-year-old Wayne man, did not see the pedestrian as he entered the crosswalk. The pedestrian who suffered non-life threatening injuries was transported to Hackensack University Medical Center.
Low light conditions and dark clothing are believed to have been contributing factor. No witnesses have been identified as of this time and so summonses have been issued.
