7:37 PM – Officers were dispatched to the report of a suspicious male loitering on the temple grounds of the Sikh Temple on Prospect Street.  The subject, a 61-year-old Oceanside, NY man had been living in his car in the parking lot for about 2 to 3 weeks.  He voluntarily agreed to leave the grounds and find other living arrangements. Officers confirmed that there were no active warrants for man’s arrest and that he did not pose a threat.


10:10 AM – The owner of a U-Hall rental agency on Maple Avenue reported that a Ridgewood man had rented a truck on July 9th, 2016 and had no yet returned the vehicle.  Investigation found that the renter was still using the truck and was aware he had an overdue bill.  Both parties were advised of their options and agreed to resolve the matter.


11:56 AM – During the course of a motor vehicle stop on Lincoln Avenue P.O. John Tarantino arrested a 22-year-old Greenwood Lake, NY man for possession of 4 bags Heroin and outstanding warrants from Fair Lawn.  The man was processed at Police HQ and was subsequently turned over to the custody of the Fair Lawn Police department in lieu of $ 1,258 in bail.  A court appearance at Superior Court Central Judicial Processing in Hackensack is scheduled for December 23rd, 2016.


3:35 PM – Det. Mike Trover arrested a 19-year-old Paterson woman for theft of $684.00 in cash from Bottle King Liquors on Prospect Street.  The woman, who had been employed as a cashier, stole the money out of a cash drawer on the evening of December 5th. She was identified on the store’s video surveillance system.


12:06 PM – A Rock Road merchant reported receiving suspected counterfeit currency during the course of the day.  The matter has been referred to the Detective Bureau.


1:59 PM – During the course of a motor vehicle stop on Route 208 North P.O. Murray Yang arrested a 29-year-old for possession of a hypodermic syringe. He was also issued a motor vehicle summons for having an obstructed windshield.   The man was processed at Police HQ and released ROR pending an appearance in Glen Rock Municipal Court on January 24th, 2017.
