For the past 20 years several Glen Rock residents have met up at the Rock at 11:45 on New Years Eve to do a 4K Midnight run around Glen Rock. There have been years of 30 + and years of a handful.
Robert Dill, the Glen Rock Midnight Run organizer, has been part of this run for most of the 20 years because it is a lot of fun and feels that this is a great and healthy way to start the new year.
Who can participate? ANYONE!
No need to register, just show-up and run.
Can you walk instead of run? Run or walk. You can also bike, skateboard, or roller-skate, though most people jog.
There is always a few kids, any age is welcome.
You can also bring a dog if you would like.
- Meet at the Rock in Glen Rock at: 11:45pm
- The “race” course will proceed out to the Glen Rock High School and back, about 4K
This run is going to happen regardless of the weather. Cold, wind, rain, snow, lava, earthquake will not stop this run.
Roberts big tips for the run is to:
- be prompt they leave right at the stroke of midnight
- and dress for the weather
This run is 100% FREE. With your free entry, you will not receive a shirt, a plastic water bottle, a bag filled with a bunch of junk, race number or chip. But you will receive the satisfaction of starting 2016 with a great run and fun time.
