On June 24, 2015 Mayor John Van Keuren received approval from the council to hire an outside appraiser to evaluate home values in and around a group home. This investigation was to evaluate if a placement of a group home would increase or decrease the surrounding property values. The analysis result is:
“The properties which are adjacent to or within the line of sight of the proposed development will not realize an effect to the current market values of said properties”
